SUMMARY
OF AUGUST 10, 2017, PRE-SUBMITTAL TELECONFERENCE WITH SUSQUEHANNA NUCLEAR, LLC TO DISCUSS A POTENTIAL LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST RE: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS TASK FORCE TRAVELER-542 FOR SUSQUEHANNA STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 (CAC NOS. MG0059 AND MG0060)
On August 10, 2017, a Category 1 public teleconference was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRG) and representatives of Susquehanna Nuclear, LLC {the licensee) at NRG Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the teleconference was to discuss a proposed license amendment request to adopt Technical Specifications Task Force {TSTF) Traveler TSTF-542, Revision 2, "Reactor Pressure Vessel Water Inventory Control," for Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 (Susquehanna). The meeting notice and agenda, dated July 17, 2017, are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML17198K243. A list of attendees is enclosed.
The licensee presented information in a draft document (ADAMS Accession No. ML17221A289). The licensee discussed its proposed variations from the TSTF-542 recommended changes to the Susquehanna Technical Specifications {TSs). The licensee stated that these variations would not affect the applicability of TSTF-542 or the NRG staff's safety evaluation.
The NRG staff asked several clarifying questions. The licensee stated that comprehensive TS page markups will be provided as part of the final submittal of the license amendment request to the NRG. No regulatory decisions were made during the meeting. Members of the public were in attendance. No public meeting feedback forms were received.
