Dear Mr. Opeka:

GHill (2)

SUBJECT:

MILLSTONE NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT 1 - CORRECTION TO AMENDMENT NO. 64 (TAC N0. M86674)

On September 29, 1993, the Commission issued Amendment No. 64 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-21 for Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1, in response to your application dated May 25, 1993.

The amendment removed the operability and associated surveillance requirements for the main steam line radiation monitor (MSLRM) scram and Group I containment isolation functions. The amendment also moved the requirements for MSLRM calibration to Surveillance Requirement 4.6.K.2 and made some editorial changes to Limiting Condition for Operation Section 3.6.K.I.

We have discovered that the amendment was issued with an implementation date of "within 30 days." Since this change will be completed during the cycle 14 refueling outage (January 1994), the implementation date should have been by i

the end of the refueling outage.

Enclosed is a corrected page 2 of the Amendment to Facility Operating License.

Sincerely, Original signed by:

James W. Andersen, Acting Project Manager Project Directorate I-4 Division of Reactor Projects - I/II Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation
