Dear Mr. Keppler:

This letter provides a third interim report on the failure of a bearing on rector collant pumps lA at Byron Generating Station. For NRC tracking purposes this deficiency is numbered 83-07.

. In reference (b) we indicated that our final report of this bearing failure was to be issued in October, 1983. This is to inform you that the report is now expected to be available by January 15, 1984.
