Byron Station Units 1 and 2 10 CFR 50.55(e) No. 83-11 Revised Final Report Anaconda Flexible Conduit NRC Docket Nos. 50-454/455 Reference (a): E.D. Swartz letter to J.G. Keppler dated October 6, 1983

Dear Mr. Keppler:

Reference (a) provided information concerning a deficiency reportable pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e) regarding the Anaconda flexible conduit at our Byron and Braidwood Stations. The purpose of this letter is to clarify the description of corrective actions

.taken to. resolve this issue at our Byron Station Unit 2.and provide an updated status. This letter is considered to be a revised final report.

Status of Corrective Action The electrical installation drawings were changed to specify the use of either Service Air Co. SF65 series /SS63 series or American B3A NB series flexible conduit in lieu of the Anaconda Product. As a result, no Anaconda flexible conduit was installed in the Unit 2 containment by the Commonwealth Edison Co. on-site contractor; In addition, the on-site contractor will replace all Anaconda flexible conduit supplied on equipment from effsite vendors with either of the currently approved flexible conduits. Those actions will be complete prior to fuel load.
