AP600 CONTAINMENT DBA EVALUATION MODEL (WATER COVERAGE MODEL)

Dear Mr. Quay:

Enclosure i to this letter provides information on the water coverage model utilized in the AP600 Containment Design Basis Accident evaluation model to provide a conservative estimate of the shell evaporation rates. The enclosure also addresses the applicability of the Zuber-Staub Film Stability model as applied in the AP600 Contaimnent DBA evaluation model. A complete discussion of the water coverage model will be included in the WGOTHIC Applications Report which is scheduled for completion in June,1996. The enclosure report is provided at this time to support NRC activities toward completion of the AP600 Supplemental Draft Safety Evaluation Report.

This submittal contains Westinghouse proprietary information consisting of trade secrets, commercial information or financial information which we consider privileged or confidential pursuant to 10CFR2.790. Therefore, it is requested that the Westinghouse proprietary information attached hereto be handled on a confidential basis and be withheld from public disclosures. The non-proprietary copy of Enclosure 1 is provided as Enclosure 2.
