The Honorable Arthur E.' Morris, Chairman

~

The Advisory Panel for the Decontamination of Three Mile Island Unit 2 Mayor of Lancaster 120 N. Duke Street Lancaster, PA 17602 -

Dear Mayor Morris:

This is in response to your letter of July 22, 1985 in which you express the P.anel's disappointment at the NRC's failure to deal with the Parks' matter in a timely fashion. I understand that the NRC staff immediately advised you of the proposed enforcement action issued to GPU Nuclear on August 12, 1985.

Some enforcement actions, because of their complexity, require more than the usual amount of time to resolve. The alleged discrimination involving Richard Parks at TMI-2 is such a matter. Let me assure you that the Commission will continue its efforts to conclude the remaining TMI investigation and enf'orcement matters as soon as possible.

Sincerely, L 6NNbNw Nunzio T. Palladino cc: Panel Members 8509300279 850820 PDR COMMS NRCC CORRESPONDENCE PDR
