PUBLICATION OF TWO INDIVIDUAL SH0LLY' NOTICES FOR MILLSTONE UNIT 1-

As of June 29, the projected startup schedule for Millstone Unit 1 included l an initial criticality date of August 16, 1986. On the afternoon of June 29, ,

the licensee called and informed the staff that the work required during this j outage was proceeding ahead of schedule and that the startup date (initial 1 critically) has been moved up to August 5, 1986. If these attached notices ~

are not published in an expedited manner, the staff will not be able to issue j the license amendments required to support the new startup date for Millstone i Unit 1. Failure to issue these amendments will result in a temporary shut-down of the plant. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. If you have any questions concerning this request, please call me on 492-27775.
