Fire in Unoccupied Office Trailers The licensee reported that a group of six unoccupied trailers at the construction site for the C11rton power station had burned during the night of August 22, 1976. The trailers were interconnected by covered walkways. They had been used as QA/QC offices but had been completely vacated the previous week when personnel moved into permanent buildings. The trailers were located some distance from the center of the construc-tion activities. There was no construction work in progress over the weekend, but telephone maintenance men had been in the trailers the pre-vious day. .

 !             The fire was discovered at 8 p.m. by a security patrolman while making his rounds. Fire departments from three surrounding communities -

Clinton, Farmer City, and Welden - responded to the blaze but were un-j able to save the structures. The loss is estimated at approximately

               $40,000.

Reporters have been at the site taking pictures and Region III has re-ceived one inquiry from the Associated Press. De utility has not made a press release. Region III, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, received notification of this occur-rence by telephone from the Supervisor of Quality Assurance at the Clinton site at 10 a.m. on August 23, 1976. O
