Dear Dr. Travers:

l Ilam a resident of eastern Long Island. I find last month's decision.by the NRC to allow the restart' reactor #2 at the Millstone nuclear power plant 'in Connecticut irresponsible and reckless'. There is NO EVACUATION PLAN for us. We live in a very densely populated area. There is only one road off of this island, and under ordinary circumstances it is choked with traffic. In the event- of a nuclear mishap at the Millstone

. plant, we would be trapped.- Why don't ' you consider this fact when you approve operations at Millstone?

We would-like you.to know how' difficult it is to get off

-Long Island in an automobile. Why- can't you come out here some weekend in the summer, say on a Friday night, and. leave on a Sunday ~ evening? You would find yourself as terrified as we are about the prospects of a nuclear mishap at Millstone.

Please, come and experience ' the natural beauty and special geographical circumstances of our island before you make any more

  • decisions that can seriously compromise our future, destroy the future of our children. And, until adequate measures for emergency: safety procedures and evacuation are sufficiently established, we demand that you use your power as NRC commissioner to CLOSE DOWN MILLSTONE.

Close Down Millstone. It is' damaging our waters, it is dangerous to our health. There is no evacuation plan. Stop overlooking the safety of millions people. Stop ignoring.us.

When will you pay. attention to this terrible threat to the safety of your constituents?

Sincerely,

We would like you to know how difficult it is to get off Long Island in.an automobile. Why can't you come out here some weekend in the summer, say on a Friday night, and leave on a Sunday evening? You would find yourself as terrified as we are about the prospects of a nuclear mishap at Millstone.

Please, come and experience the natural beauty and special geographical circumstances of our island before you make any more decisions that can seriously compromise our future, destroy the future of our children. And, until adequate measures for emergency safety procedures and evacuation are sufficiently established, we demand that you use your power as NRC commissioner to CLOSE DOWN MILLSTONE.

Close Down Millstone. It is damaging our waters, it is dangerous to our health. There is no evacuation plan. Stop overlooking the safety of millions people. Stop ignoring,us.

.When will you pay attention to this terrible threat to the safety-of your constituents?

Sincerely, LMA b l 3 (Visk W  !

Dear Dr. Travers,

l I am a resident of eastern Long Island. I find last month's decision by the NRC to allow the restart reactor #2 at the. .
