1.6. kope l The requirements and procedures for the f unctional test teg of the Reliance Electric ISOMATE ! solation Boards (CCL Sa ple No.

p 1724-018 000) are presented in the following subsect ions . Each board  ;

shall be tested individually, l

1.6 .1 Test Requirements f

The isolation boards shall be tested in accordan & n1th the procedure specified below The board shall comply I

with the following operationo aquirerents:

l Input power voltage of 5 Voits i 11 J 1)

2) Each output operates with en input of 25.2 VDC - 0.1 VDC.

I 28 VDC i 0.1 VOC and 30.8 VDC + 0.1VDC.

3) Each output accepts a load of 0.1 &ps + 0.01 at 140 Volts DC + 2 VDC.

O 4) Maintains 1500 VDC isolation for one ninute between all inputs tied together, and all outputs and power voltage inputs tied together, for one minute. (" elative Humidity R1 nust be less than 60% RH during this test). 1 l

9 5) 500 Volt ~gger te ' value greater than 50 Ma.

1.6.2 Test procedure Connect the isolation board tester per Figure 1.6.1 with the e selector switch in the of f position and the power supplies turned off. Figure 1.6.2 is the Functional Test Fixture wiring diagram, insert the isolation board in the tester in the direction marked on the tester (components side toward the front). Turn on the 5 Volt regulated power supply. The two h alann status lights should 111uminate and remain illuminated s

- DATE on naview av as long as the 5 Volt supply is on. Turn on the cutput load j 140 Volt regulated power supply and adjust the voltage to 140 4 Volts DC + 2 Volt DC. Turn on the input regulated pc rr R'.

supply and adjust the voltage as required by the test procedure.

Turn the selector switch to the LED Test position. All of the LEDS on tht: front display of the isolatcr board shall illuminate and none of the output LEDS on the tester shall illuminate. Press the test switch on the isolation board and all of the LEDS shall go out.

Select input 1 on the tester selector switch. Input LED ho. I on the board and Ouput LED ho. 1 on the tester shall U

h illuminate. Dress the test switch an the board and both LEDs shall go out. Continue selecting inputs 2 through 8 and testing with the test switch.

Repeat the stept above at 28 Volts DC t 0.1 VDC and then at 30.8 volts DC + 0.1 Volts DC.

Set the High Fotential tester to DC,1 PA trip and 0 Volts. R1 G

Remove the board from the functional tester and connect the board to the tifgh Potential tester as shown in Figure 1.6.3. R1 The relative humidity of the air surrounding the isolation j O board must be less than 60% RH during the High, Potential Test.

Slowly increase the voltage to 1500 Volts. Leave the 1500 volts applied for 1 minute. Connect as shown on Figure 1.6.3 for megger testing at 500 volts.

j Record of Anomaly No. 2 describes the inability of CCL test samples 1724-018-000-002 and -004 to success fully complete a ore i rninute Hi-Pot test during the initial functional test. The  ;

specification requires that the Hi-Pot test be perforred for one j minute at 1,500 volts. The specification also gives 605 RH as l the maximum . elative hunidity. The relative hu"11dity during the {

functional test was approximately R0t. CCL test sarple l 1724-018-000-004 was successfully tes ted at a later tire. men l O the humidity was approxir-ately 70% RH. CCL sample l 1724-018-000-002 failed because cptical isolator A7 broke do o l internally and was tripping the Hi Pot tester at 200V 9 1 cA. l The optical isolator was replaced with a spare and the sample was l then successfully tested. The optical isolator which failed is l considered to be a random failure which was not due to humidity l since only 1 out of 43 failed and the f ailure was internal to the l hermetically scaled case of the isolator. The test procedure was l O revised to reflect the "less than 50% RH" requirement of this l test. There were no further problems with the Hi-Pot tests. l l

The instrumentation and equipment used in the per'formance of the l O functional test, along with their calibration due dates are shown l g on the data sheets.
