SAFEGUARDS INFORMATION APR 2 71988 Florida Power and Light Company ATTN: Mr. C. O. Woody Group Vice President Nuclear Energy Department P.O. Box 14000 Juno Beach, Florida 33408 Gentlemen:

SUBJECT:

DOCKET NOS. 50-335 AND 50-389 This acknowledges the receipt of your letter of March 7, 1988, which trans-mitted Revision 13 to the St. Lucie Physical Security Plan.

Our review of the changes has found portions of the changes to be consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p). Accordingly they are acceptable for inclusion into the plan. Other portions are not consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p) as delineated in the enclosure to this letter. To preclude ,

a violation of /egulatory requirements, you must not continue to implement those changes deemed inconsistent.

During a conference call on March 10, 1988, between your Corporate Licensing Office, NRC's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and Region II staff you were informed to revert to your prior commitments concerning the Intake Canal Intrusion Detection System or, if desired, to modify your plan to accommodate the enclosed comments. Corrected plan pages should be submitted, as necessary, to maintain plan continuity. Additionally, the barrier integrity inspection date referenced in the enclosure is deemed a decrease and you must submit a request to the Commission's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.90 for amendment to your license should you want to pursue that change.

The enclosure to your letter is being withheld from public disclosurc because it contains Safeguards Information and must be protected in accordance with the i provisions of 10 CFR Part 73.21.

The material enclosed herewith contains Safeguards Information as defined by  ;

10 CFR 73.21 and its disclosure to unauthorized individuals is prohibited by ,
