Dear Sir:

In Reference 1, the Authority described our program for the eventual phase-out of the Shift Technical Advisor (STA) position at our FitzPatrick plant. Under this program, operating shift personnel with Senior Reactor Operator (SRO)

Licenses will be qualified to fill STA positions; SROs have been enrolled in an Advanced Technical Training program which provides engineering education and training.

To supplement and clarify the information previously supplied in Reference 1, the Authority provides the following additional information:

Institution Accreditdation As stated on page 2 of Reference 1, "The Advanced Technical Training Program is being conducted by Memphis State University Center for Nuclear Studies which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools..."

Student-Credits

Students' holding alcurrent--SRO license 1on a.commerical nuclear power plant are awarded forty semester credits Jafter a. degree contract is approved. These credits are

' awarded for technical education received during SRO license training'and.will appear on the student's official Memphis 1 State transcript. Students holding operator's licensees who successfully complete all Advanced Technical Program courses will be awarded.an additional forty-one credits

.(for a total of eighty-one credits) and will_have completed all the technical. courses required for the Bachelor of ProfessionaliStudies in~ Nuclear Industrial Operations degree.
