Re: St. Lucie Unit 2 Docket No. 50-389 Amendment 5 to the Final Safety Anal sis Re ort In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.30, Florida Power 8 Light Company (FPL) is submitting sixty (60) copies of Amendment 5 to the Final Safety Analysis Report, St. Lucie Plant Unit 2.

The Amendment includes, the following:

(1) FPL response to June 9, 1981 Structural Engineering Branch request for additional information (questions 220.1' 220.37).

(2) FPL response to June 17, 1981 Instrument and Central Engineering Branch request for additional information (questions 420. 1-420.3, 420.6-420.13, 420.15-420.55).

(3) Numerous NUREG-0737 items that are applicable to St. Lucie Unit 2.

(4) Other changes resulting frdm the ongoing technical review.
