Or. Scott is a graduate of Texas A&M and Purdue Universities. His doctorate was in Genetics with minors in Physiology anp Statistics. Since graduation in 1961, he has worked full time in applied Health Physics. At times during this period, he has had administrative and technical responsibility for a range of Health Physics programs including e~ternal monitoring for 4,000-6,000 persons. uranium and thorium internal dosimetry for 1,000-2,000 persons, and radiation safety for x-ray machines and accelerators (over 100 machines).

For the past five years, he has overseen review and had technical respon-sibility for all activities involving radiation and radioactive material within Gulf Oil Corporation. Included in this are three uranium mines and one\uranium I

mill. For all of his professional career, he has, on almost a daily basis, been involved in some facet of Uranium Health Physics.

Dr. Scott has authored or co-authored some 25 publications, including the American Industrial Hygiene Association Hygienic Guides for natural uranium and natural thorium. He has consulted in Uranium Health Physics for several firms including the Nuclear Fuels Divisio1 of General Electric Company and Westinghouse Corporation.

For his American Board of Health Physics examination. he listed as his specialty Uranium Milling and Mining Health Physics. Although the examination covered a wide range of Health Physics topics, he was also tested specifically in his specialty and was certified.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATlON J. F. Smith , R. N.

Mr. Smith is a graduate of Texas Tech'and the Methodist Hospital School of r~ursing. He has received a B.A. and an R.N. (Registered Nurse). Since graduation in 1973, he has worked in industrial hygiene. He has been a supervisor of industrial hygiene for the past six years at various Gulf facilities. Mr. Smith's most recent assignment, since January 1982, is Directer of Industrial Hygiene for the Gulf New Mexico Uranium OperatJons.

He has co;:iuthored two papers in Industrial Hygiene.

Mr. Smith is a Certified Occupational Health Nurse, with certification by the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses. He has received Training in Radiation Protection from Gulf.
