Gentlemen:

Enclosed are three (3) signed originals and thirty-seven (37) copies of a report which describes the use of " Soils-Structure Interaction in the Development of Amplified Response Spectra for Beaver Valley Power Station,' Unit No. 1".

The amplified response spectra, developed in accordance with the methods det.cribed in the report, are presently being utilized to perform a reanalysis of a majority of the plant piping systems identified in our April 2, 1979 reply to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's March 13, 1979

" Order to Show Cause". -

The information requested in item 1 of Mr. Eisenhut's letter of May 25, 1979, which confi;med that soil structure interaction methodology may be used I on Beaver Valley, is included as Section 8 of the enclosed report. ,
