Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Response to IE Bulletin 79-03A Gentlemen:

We have reviewed IE Bulletin 79-03A, " Longitudinal Weld Defects in ASME SA-312 Type 304 Stainless Steel Pipe."

Our investigation has determined that for some pipe fittings, A-312 seam welded material had been used. However, no application of the A-312 material was found to exceed 85 percent of the allowable stress as identi-fled in the Bulletin. No further action is necessary at this time.

If you have any questions regarding this response, please contact my office.

Very truly yours,

/
