The minimum factors of safety for the design of concrete anchors used in the construction of Beaver Valley, Unit 2 are as described in the Duquesne Light Company response to IE Bulletin 79-02, dated July 6, 1979. There are no instances in which the lower factors of safety mentioned in IE Bulletin 79-02 (Revision 2) have been used.

Our response to this item has been provided in the Duquesne Light company response to IE Bulletin 79-02, dated July 6,1979. Documentation that the

  • design requirements have been met as described in our July response is available at the site.

Item (5)

No expansion anchor bolts have been installed in concrete block (masunty) walls to attach pipe supports for safety related systems. Job speci-fications prohibit such installations without approval of the Engineers.
