FERMI UNIT 1 MASTER INSPECTION PLAN - CALENDAR YEAR 2015

Dear Mr. Plona:

In accordance with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Inspection Manual, Chapter 2561, "Decommissioning Power Reactor Inspection Program," the NRC Region III staff and management have developed a Master Inspection Plan (MIP) for Fermi Unit 1. The plan is based on your current performance and schedule of significant decommissioning activities planned for the site for the period of January 2015 through December 2015 (CY15).

The plan outlines how we intend to focus our regional inspection resources to provide oversight for any significant decommissioning activities.

Because this MIP is based, in part, on your proposed schedule of significant decommissioning activities for CY15, the plan and focus of the NRC inspection activities may change to reflect a change in your planned decommissioning activities or your performance. In order to ensure that this MIP remains current, we request that you keep the Materials Control, ISFSI and Decommissioning Branch staff informed of any significant changes in your proposed schedule of decommissioning activities. You will be informed of any significant changes to the Fermi Unit 1 Inspection Schedule.

We currently project the region will conduct approximately one inspection at Fermi Unit 1 through December 2015 to evaluate the on-going passive monitoring SAFTOR. The following is a list of the inspection procedures we expect to use during our inspection.

Inspection Procedure Title IP 71801 Decommissioning Performance and Status Review IP 83750 Occupational Radiation Exposure In accordance with Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be av ailable electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS), accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
