1.0 INTRODUCTION

The intent of this lesson is to introduce / review the Loss of TP-1 NNI Power Abnormal Procedure. The material (s) that you are responsible for is/are stated in the objectives for this lesson. 2.0 PRESENTATION A. Symptoms that indicate entrance into this abnormal procedure is/are dependent upon the NNI Power Supply that is lost. This procedure is subdivided into the following:

1. Loss of NNI Y AC TP-2
2. Loss of NNI Y DC
3. Loss of NNI X AC
4. Loss of NNI X DC B. The initial Plant Conditions assumed are as follows: ,
1. The plant is operating at 100% power.
2. The NNI's are in the preferred switch lineup as specified in SP 1105.06 NNI Operating Procedure.

NOTE: If power is less than 100% at the time, NNI Power is lost, or if the switch lineup is other than the normal preferred lineup, the plant transient may be different than predicted and indications which are unreliable will be different than predicted. The actions of this procedure for recovery and control are still valid and unchanged even if in an abnormal switch lineup. NOTE: SFRCS is not actuated by this A.B.; EP1202.01 Section 4.3 directs SFRCS actuation. Addendum 1 , C. Loss of NNI Y AC Power

1. Symptoms
a. The following Annunciator Alarms: Obj. #1 (1) ICS/NNI 118 VAC Pwr Trbl 3 of 14

a LOSS OF NNI POWER AB 1203.41 GOP-OLC-001.00 Attachment 41 (2) ' Low Level and Low Pressure for each Core Flood Tank powered from Y.

b. Loss of Y AC NNI power indicating light Turbo-Genrrator on Control Room Panel C-5722 Panel
c. Zero volts indicated on uninterruptible iostrument busses YAU and YAB i
d. Computer point Q697-NNI Y 118 VAC Pwr TRBL
e. All Y indicators fail toward, but not necessarily at, center scale concurrent with loss of Y AC NNI power indicating light. With only failed indicators refer to AP 3014.01 ICS/NNI blown fuse.
f. On all Y recorders, the pen fails "as is" and paper motion stops.
2. Automatic Actions
a. Plant Response - No plant transient Obj #3
b. Inoperable Automatic Functions (1) Loss of High MU Flow Alarm (2) Steam Gener1 tor Pressure - Fails to Inputs to 600 psig - (no effect input used only By pass valves when turbine is tripped) AVVs i (3) Start Up Flow - Loop 1 Temperature compensated (No effect unless the main FW block is shut)

(4) Loop 2 Main FW Valve AP signal to the ICS fails to 50 psid (no effect - other loop will control)

3. Operator Actions
a. Transfer both S.G. Pressure Selectors to Details of X power (HSSP 12A and HSSP 128) actions are Given in AB.

c. Initiate actions to regain'NNI Y AC' power.
d. If NNI power is not restored and a plant trip or shutdown is_in progress, then:

(1) If NU6 was open, then close NU 85. (Reduces letdown flow) (2) If increased letdown flow is necessary, throttle NU-83 (3) If the batch controller counter, or its flow computer point is available then use it to monitor BA pump flow. (4) If not, control RA flow using MU 23 or have an operator throttle MU 366 (5) Place the Loop 1 NFW block valve control switch in "open" (NIS 780) (6) If level control is unsatisfactory, close the block valve (FW 780) and control level with the start up valve.

c. If cooldown to col.d shutdown is required, follow PP 1102.10
1. Use DH Train 2 due to loss of all temperature indication and valve control for DH Train 1.

D. Loss of NNI Y DC Power

1. Symptoms
a. Loss of Y DC NNI power indicating light Obj #1 on Control Room Panel C-5722 Turbo-Generator Panel
b. NNI 24 VDC Bus Trip Annunciator Alarm
c. Computer Point Q716 - NNI Y DC Bus Trip,

2. Automatic Actions
a. Plant Response - Possible underfeed of Obj #3 Steam Generators due to:

(1) Low Tavg - Rod withdrawl 570* - 575' (2) Low Td - BTU Limits 582* - 595'F If signals are supplying ICS

b. Inoperable Automatic Functions (1) The following . alarms are inoper.able:

Loop 1 High and Low RC Pressure HPI Pump 1-1 High and Low Flow DH/LPI Pump 1-1 High and low F. low (2) Loop 2 Steam Generator Pressure Input SG Safeties to ICS fails to 600 PSI (No effect input used only when turbine is tripped) (3) Loop 1 S/U Feedwater Flow Signal fails to center scale. (No effect input used when main block valve is shut).

3. Operator Actions Details of actions are
a. Transfer Tavg Auto / Manual Transfer switch given in AB to Loop 2 (HSRC7) TP-5
b. Transfer selected output temperature TP-5 selector to Loop 2 (HSRC3)

f. If NNI Y DC is not restored and a plant trip or shutdown is in progress, then:

(1) H the Batch Controller Counter or its flow computer point is available then use it to monitor B.A. pump flow. (2) If not, control B.A. flow using MU 23 or have an operator throttle MU 36.

g. Place the loop 1 NW block valve in open (HIS 780)
h. g level control is unsatisfactory, close block valve (W -780) and control level with the startup valve.
i. If cooldown to cold shutdown is required, follow PP 1102.10.

(1) Use DH train 2 due to loss of all temperature indication for DH Train 1. CAUTION: Reenergizing NNI Y DC can cause a feedwater Obj. #5 transient if W demand stations are in Auto prior TP-8 to reenergizing place FW demand H/A in manual. E. Loss of NNI X AC Power .
