Meteorological instrumentation failure contrary to Technical Specification 3.3.3.4.

6. Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

Mode 6 refueling.

7. D:scription of Occurrence:

, At 0900,16 July 1978 all digital and recorded meteorological indications failed.

Investigatiot. by maintenance personnel revealed a bad translator power supply printed circait card as well as a Sad dew call printed circuit card. Both circuit cards were renewed and meteorological indications restored on 17 July 1978.

3 O .sig2acion of Apparent Cause:

NI The cause of this event can be attributed directly to lightning.

9. Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no hazard to the health and safety of the plant or general public as no gas releases were in progress during the period of inoperability.

. 10. Corrective Action:

1 Printed circuit cards were renewed and due to the nature of this event further corrective action is not necessary.

11. Failure Data:

This is the first occurrence of an event of this type.
