3eProvideasummaryoftheevaluationperformedconcerningtheshippingcaskloadpathbetweentheunits.Thissummaryshouldincludeadiscussionofthemeansutilizedtoconfirmthatsafetyrelatedequipmentincludingpiping,components,andelectricconduitsthatarelocatedneartheloadpathandthosethatareburiedundertheloadpathwillnotbeadverselyaffectedwithregardtotheircapabilitytoperformtheirintendedsafetyfunctionsduringnormalspentfueltransferfromUnitItoUnit2andintheeventofanaccidentsuchascaskdrop.Also,provideanynecessarydrawingstoclarifyyourresponse.~ResenseTheevaluationconsideredaspentfueltrans-shipmentpathstartingattheUnitIcaskloadingareaandtravelingtotheUnit2caskloadingareaasindicatedinFigure3-l.Thispath,initsentirety,coincideswithaportionoftheintermodalcasktransporterpathpreviouslyevaluatedforeffectsuponundergroundstructuresandutilities.Thespentfueltrans-shipmentpathroadsurfaceispavedwithPortlandcementconcreteorasphalticconcrete.Thefuelelementstobetransportedwillutilizeaoneelementshippingcaskhavingamaximumweightof25tonswhenloadedwiththespentfuelassembly.Twotransportvehicleswereconsideredintheevaluation.WheelloadsforthetwovehiclesareshowninFigures3-Iand3-2.Thereactionsofthetwotransportvehicleswerecomparedtothemaximumreactionsoftheintermodalcasktransporterthatwaspreviouslyevaluated.Sincethereactionsoftheintermodalcasktransporteraregreaterthanthereactionforeitherofthetwotransportvehicles,theintermodalcasktransporterevaluationisconsideredtobeanenvelopingevaluation.Theeffectoftheintermodalcasktransporterwheelloads(andthusthespentfueltransporterwheelloads)ontheroadway,missileprotectionslabsandundergroundfacilities(i.e.,pipes,electricalconduit,manholesandcatchbasins)hasbeenanalyzed.Thepunchingshearoftheconcreteroadwayisacceptableforsurfaceareasofbothsingleanddualtirewheels.Eachsurfaceareawasalsoevaluatedformaximumsoilbearingcapacityandfoundtobeacceptable.Themaximumstressesanddeflectionsofthemissileprotectionslabs,undergroundpipesandconduitarewithintheallowablerange.Theultimatestrengthdesignofthemanholesandcatchbasinsusingtheappropriateloadcriteriawasreviewedandfoundtobeacceptable.Theroadwaywillbeinspectedforgeneraldeteriorationsothatitcanberepaired,ifnecessary,priortothetransportofspentfuel.Theshippingcaskwillbeadequatelysecuredtothetransportvehicle.Thepossibilityofacaskdrophasbeengreatlyminimizedbythefollowing:a.conservativedesignmarginsintheliftingcomponentsb.redundantbrakingsystemsforhoistsystemsc.periodictestsandinspectionsofthecranesEJW4/001/3
