va ilure to comply with 10 CFR-20, Section .102, Determination of Prior Dose.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

Mode 5 cold sh tdown.

Description of Occurrence:

At 0700 following a review of Radiation Exposure Records for compliance to a revision of 10 CFR-20.102, it was determined that an individual received an accumulated whole body dose of 385 millirem. This exceeds the limit of 257. of 1250 millirem specified in the revision for an individual without a signed statement of previous quarterly exposure.

Designation of Apparent Cause:

The cause of this event is attributed to a lack of adequate controls for reviewing revisions to the Code of Federal Regulations in the Federal Register and subsequently updating affected plant programs.

Analysis of Occurrence:

10 CFR-20.102, is designed to prevent an individual from exceeding the quarterly limit of 1.25 Rem. The total dose received by the individual

.445 Rem which is within the allowed limit.

Corrective Action:

The plant Exposure Record Review Program has been revised to comply with the revision to 10 CFR-20.102.

Failure Data:

This is the first occurrence of this type reported.
