SUMMARY

OF THE JULY 23, 2018, PUBLIC MEETING WITH NUSCALE POWER, LLC, TO DISCUSS U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFFS REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 9135 On July 23, 2018, representatives of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) held a public teleconference meeting to discuss staffs questions regarding NuScales response to the staffs request for additional information (RAI) 9135. The NRC staffs RAI and NuScales response is avaibale in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML18162A354. captures the summary of the topics discussed during the teleconference. The agenda and list of meeting attendees are included in Enclosures 2 and 3, respectively. The meeting notice for this meeting is available in ADAMS under Accession No. ML18191B230.

SUMMARY

OF THE JULY 23, 2018, PUBLIC MEETING WITH NUSCALE POWER, LLC, TO DISCUSS U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFFS REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 9135 During the meeting the NRC staff requested NuScale to provide additional information in response to the staffs RAI 9135. NuScale agreed and stated that the requested information will be submitted by mid-September 2018.

NuScale also provided an update on the status of their supplemental information for RAI 9460.

The following summarizes the actions and commitments:

RAI 9460: NuScale informed the staff that the supplemental information for this RAI would be submitted during the week of August 13, 2018. Subsequently, the staff received NuScales supplemental information for RAI 9460 on August 16, 2018. This document is in ADAMS under Accession No. ML18228A860.

NuScale requested clarification from the staff regarding correlation requirements regarding the contents of RAI 9132 and 9133. The NRC staff provided an example from American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) QME-1-2007, Qualification of Active Mechanical Equipment Used in Nuclear Power Plants, which is a standard that NuScale committed to follow.
