Summary of Annual Assessment Meeting with PSEG   On March 28, 2017, at 5:00 p.m., the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted an open house at the PSEG Energy & Environmental Resource Center in Salem, NJ. The NRC conducted the open house to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at Salem and Hope Creek for 2016. A notice of the open house was issued on March 17, 2017, and was posted on the NRC's external (public) Web page. The meeting notice can be found in the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. ML17076A0521. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web page at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.

ML17058A401 and ML17058A408. The NRC poster boards presented included background on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP).
The NRC staff presented poster boards, made the attached handouts available to attendees and were available to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of Salem and Hope Creek for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2016, as documented in our letters dated March 3, 2017, ADAMS Accession Nos. ML17058A401 and ML17058A408. The NRC poster boards presented included background on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP).
Additional information relative to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Salem and Hope Creek can be found on the NRC's website at: www.nrc.gov/nrr/oversight/assess/index.html. Two members of the public, along with Federal and State officials and PSEG employees, attended the open house, and asked questions regarding Salem's and Hope Creek's performance as well as potential technical safety issues affecting all nuclear power plants.
