LICENSEE: EXELON GENERATION COMPANY, LLC FACILITY: PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNITS 2 & 3

SUMMARY

OF APRIL 15, 2008, PEACH BOTTOM SAFETY CONSCIOUS WORK ENVIRONMENT (SCWE) EXIT MEETING On April 15, 2008, at 5:30 p.m., a meeting was conducted at the Peach Bottom Inn in Delta, PA between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon). The NRC requested the meeting with Exelon management to discuss: 1) the SCWE inspection conducted at Peach Bottom from March 24 to 28, 2008 (in accordance with the November 28, 2007 reactor oversight process deviation memorandum, ML073320344); and 2) the status of security organization SCWE surveys at other Exelon Nuclear operating reactors (in accordance with the October 19, 2007 Confirmatory Action Letter (ML072920283) and an October 4, 2007 letter from Exelon to the NRC (ML072850708)).

The NRC presented the results of its SCWE inspection conducted during the week of March 24, 2008. The NRC presentation included a discussion of SCWE inspection objectives; the results of a SCWE survey of the Peach Bottom staff; the independent results of focus group and individual interviews of Peach Bottom staff conducted by NRC inspectors; inspector observations regarding the Employee Concerns Program; and inspector observations regarding the SCWE within the security organization. As part of the meeting, Exelon commented on the SCWE inspection results and provided a status of security organization SCWE surveys at other Exelon Nuclear operating reactors.

The public observed the meeting and were offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Exelons SCWE performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations. At the end of the meeting the NRC answered questions from the public including a discussion of evacuation plans, tornado impacts on site structures, past allegation history, and security.
