==Dear Mr. Tate:==

In response to your letter dated January 18, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession Number ML19023A240), requesting a delay in the initiation of decommissioning the Uranyl Nitrate Building (UNB), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff finds good cause to grant the request. The UNB is a relatively new building which became operational in 2012. It was constructed to modern building codes and it has been inspected numerous times with no significant issues. In addition, there are definitive plans to begin new activities in the UNB after another building becomes operational in 2020.
Therefore, the NRC staff finds that granting the request is not detrimental to the public health and safety and is otherwise in the public interest. The date for initiating the decommissioning of the UNB is extended to December 31, 2020.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web Site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.

Dear Mr.
