-August:1, 1983 EVENT DESCRIPTION AND PROBABLE CONSEQUENCES On July 7,1983, at 0300 hours0.00347 days <br />0.0833 hours <br />4.960317e-4 weeks <br />1.1415e-4 months <br />, with the Plant in Mode 1, Pressurizer Power Operated. Relief Valve (PORV) PCV-444B-RO would not fully ' stroke when operated f rom the Main Control Board. The low pressure Nitrogen reservoir. for PCV-444B-RC would not charge up - to normal pressure. Within ten (10) minutes, the block valve.

for PCV-444B-RC (XVG-8000B) was closed and power removed.

. Technical Specification 3.4.4, Action Statement (a), requires that with one (1)'or.more PORV(s) inoperable, within one (1) hour either restore the PORV(s).to OPERABLE status or close the associated block valve (s) and remove power from the block valve (s);.otherwise, be in at least HOT STANDBY within the next six (6) hours and in COLD SHUTDOWN within the following thirty (30) hours. Technical Specification 3.4.4 is applicable in Modes 1, 2, and 3.

There were no adverse consequences as the Plant was in compliance

.with the applicable Technical Specification Action Statement and the. Pressurizer Code Safety Valves were OPERABLE.

CAUSE AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS Nitrogen' Supply HeaderLPressure Control Valve (IPV-6307B) and Nitrogen. Supply Header Isolation Valve (XVX-6309B), bothlfor PORV POV-444B-RC, will be inspected and repaired / adjusted, as necessary, when plant conditions' permit. At that time, a follow-up report will be made indicating actual cause and

' corrective actions as well as action taken to prevent recurrence.
