OF OPF. RATING EXPERIENCE DOCKET NO. 50/395 UNIT V. C. SUMMER I DATE 6/11/99 COMPI.ETED Ef W. H. BELL TF.LEPEONE (803) 345-4389 i MAY 1999 AT THE BEGINING OF THE MONTH THE UNIT WAS SHUT DOWN FOR THE 11TH REFUELING OUTAGE. THE REACTOR WENT CRITICAL AT 06:05 ON 5/10/99 AND THE 'BMAKER WAS FIRST CLOSED AT 13:48 ON 5/11/99. ON 5/13/99 POWER WAS REDUCED FROM 30% TO 20% AND AT 03:25 THE ' BREAKER WAS BRIEFLY OPENED TO PERMIT MAINTENANCE ON THE MAIN GENERATOR REGULATOR AND TnEN CLOSED AT 04:10 THE SAMZ DAY.

AT 00,41 ON 5/18/99 WHILE AT 82% POWER THE REACTOR WAS MANUALLY TRIPPED DUE TO HIGH BEARING VIBRATION ON THE MAIN HIGH PRESSURE TURBINE. AT 17:45 OF THE SAME DAY THE REACTOR WENT CRITICAL AND

,.ON 5/19/99;AT 02:26 THE GENERATOR BREAKER WAS CLOdED. AT 17:30 ON 5/21/99 THE UNIT ACHIEVED 100% POWER WHERE IT REMAINED FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH.
