On September 8, 1998, the Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) requested a change to the Nuclear Business Unit (NBU) Emergency Plan for the Hope Creek and Salem Generating Stations.
In a telephone call on April 1, 1999, NRC requested a clarification in Section 4.0 -Emergency Response Support and Resource, Subsection 2.0 -State
* and County (Local) Government Response.
On April 5, 1999 PSE&G submitted the requested changes to pages 4.1 and 4.2 of the Emergency Plan. Subsequent to the April 5, 1999 submittal, the NRC advised PSE&G of concerns with the revised pages. After discussion with the NRC and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), PSE&G revised the affected pages to address the NRC and FEMA concerns.
Attached are revised drafts* of proposed changes to pages 4.1 and 4.2 of the Emergency Plan. The changes made since the September 8, 1998 submittal are contained on page 4.2 and are noted in Italics and underlined.

On September 8, 1998, the Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) requested a change to the Nuclear Business Unit (NBU) Emergency Plan for the Hope Creek and Salem Generating Stations. The specific resources and capabilities of medical support are provided in Section 13.0 of this Plan. 1.2 Fire Protection Fire protection support is provided for Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations in accordance with station technical specifications.

The Plan provides the appropriate space and facilities to the principal State and Federal response organizations at the Emergency Operations Facility (EOF) . The utility assigns a person to assist the States of New Jersey and Dela1o1are in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding with each State. This allows state response personnel to have immediate access to all station radiological and operational data. Additionally, PSE&G is prepared to to the state EOCs to assist the state (at their request) in questions and contacting the *appropriate utility personnel.
