Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334 Fire Protection System Implementation Schedule Gentlemen:

In my ;ecters of January 11 and February 21, 1979, we provided schedule dates for the implementation of miscellanious items relating to the Fire Protection Program at the Beaver Valley Power Station. We will not be able to successfully implement two of these items by December 31, 1979, as originally scheduled.

Installation of the smoke detectors in each charging pump cubicle and installation of flow switches in the ventilation exhaust ducts of the battery rooms to detect loss of exhaust flow have been delayed because detailed engineering work has been more complex than originally anticipated and therefore, the work has not been completed. Installation of both of these items will be completed during the current refueling and modification outage.

Very truly yours,
