Doors to the meeting room will open to the public at 6:00 p.m.

Location: DoubleTree by Hilton Tarrytown 455 South Broadway Tarrytown, NY 10591 Purpose: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff will meet with the public to discuss the NRCs assessment of safety performance at Indian Point Units 2 and 3 for 2015, as described in the NRC annual assessment letter dated March 2, 2016, and will also provide short presentations on recent topics of public interest, including baffle bolt degradation.

So as to accommodate a more robust discussion at the outset of the meeting, the NRC will present its evaluation of the plants performance over the previous year, as well as particular issues of public concern. As such, the NRC is extending the stated end time for this meeting from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

From roughly 7:30 p.m., after the conclusion of the NRCs presentation, to 9:30 p.m., when the meeting is set to end, the NRC will host a question

2 and answer session with the public in the Grand Ballroom. Time for each speaker will be limited to three minutes in order to accommodate as many speakers as possible. Members of the public may enter the Grand Ballroom beginning at 6:00 p.m. Prior to 6:00 p.m., the room will be closed to all except NRC staff and those performing services under contract to the NRC in support of this meeting.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., NRC staff will be available, in an informal setting adjacent to the Grand Ballroom, to discuss issues related to Indian Point.

An audio recording will be made of this meeting. The recording will be transcribed, and both will be posted on the NRCs website at www.nrc.gov.

The NRC will conduct the meeting in an orderly fashion and will endeavor to engender an environment that encourages respectful discussion.

Threatening language will not be tolerated, and will be cause for removal from the meeting by local law enforcement. In addition, individuals who repeatedly disrupt the meeting will be removed by local law enforcement.

The meeting will be facilitated by Brett Klukan, Regional Counsel for NRC Region I.

Members of the public who wish to speak during the meeting will be required to sign up on one of three lists prior to entering the Grand Ballroom. One list will be for those who plan to voice concerns or raise questions critical of current operations; the second list will be for those who plan to speak in support of the plant, and the third will be for those who take no position with respect to current operations. Speakers will be called in ascending chronological order (i.e., the first to sign up will be the first to be called), rotating through the three lists. The lists will be available at 6:00 p.m. outside the Grand Ballroom.

Given that the NRC is planning to utilize a projector and laptop as part of its opening presentation, public attendees will be permitted to display one to three slides or pages (in PDF or PowerPoint format) when speaking.

Slides will need to be emailed to Brett.Klukan@nrc.gov in advance (no later than by June 7). Due to computer security concerns, the NRC will not be able to accept electronic media onsite. The submission of slides in advance does not guarantee any particular spot in the speaking order, which will be determined, as stated, by the sign-up lists.

For security purposes, local law enforcement officers will be conducting searches of personal items (briefcases, purses, backpacks, equipment cases, etc.) and performing random screenings outside the entry into the Grand Ballroom. No weapons of any kind are permitted in the meeting room. Any props brought into the Grand Ballroom should be fairly lightweight (i.e., would not injure a person if thrown or swung with force) and should not contain any metal fixtures or sharp edges.

Signs, banners, posters, and displays not larger than 18 x 18 are permitted in the meeting room. In the interest of public safety, signs affixed to any sticks, poles, or other similar devices are strictly prohibited.

3 The hotel will provide a limited number of tables for use by the public in advance of the meeting in a designated area outside of the Grand Ballroom. These tables are available on a first-come basis and cannot be reserved in advance.
