STEAM GENERATOR TUBE INSPECTION - EXCEPTION (TAC 75815)

Consumers Power Company (CPC) letter dated March 6, 1990 proposed a change to Technical Specification 4.14.1 that would grant a one-time exemption from the requirement to inspect steam generator tubes at intervals up to 24 months.

That proposed exemption would have been valid until the 1990 refueling outage.

The NRC staff has recommended we change the wording in our proposed change to allow a one-time exception to Technical Specification 4.14.1 until the September 1990 refueling outage. CPC concurs with the NRC change in terminology and hereby submits, as an attachment to this letter, a revised proposed section 4. 14 .. 1 of the Technical Specifications. This revised proposal is a change in terminology only and does not change the intent of our March 6, 1990 proposal. Therefore, additional Plant Review Committee and Nuclear Safety Services Department review is not required.
