providing additional information in support of this amendment request.

An evaluation of LOCA pad non-LOCA transients was performed with a 0.5% tolerance for test equipment uncertainty. The 0.5% tolerance bounds the test equipment vendor's published equipment accuracy of 0.27%. This evaluation determined that there was no increase in the primary peak pressure and that the secondary side peak pressure increase due to the 0.5% tolerance is less than 6 psi lf and would remain below 1318.5 psia,110% of secondary side design pressure.

((,df We have evaluated the current dose calculations with respect to steamline break, locked rotor, loss of external electrical load, loss of nonemergency ac power, and rod ejection. For these accidents / transients there are no increases in the assumed mass and energy releases and therefore no impact on the reported doses.

MSSV tolerance assumptions affect other system design calculations.

Revision of these affected calculations, incorporating the additional 0.5%

tolerances, will be completed by July 30,1998. Preliminary results indicate this additional tolerance can be accommodated. We will notify the staff when this work is complete.
