Enclosed are updates to the Control Room Design Review (CRDR) reports for the South Texas Project (STP) as follows:

o Executive Sumtnary - Addendu;n 4 o  !!uman Engineering Discrepancy Resolution Report Addendum 3 These reports reflect the status of the STP CRDR program as of September 30, 1988. Revision bars are usad to denoto changes from the previous submittal. Exceptions not identified with revision bars include the text of the Executive Summary Addendum 4, which it new raaterial, and rninor editorial changes throughout both documents. For Hurnan Engineering Discrepancies (llEDs) which have been resolved, a specific corr:pletion statement has been included for each unit, as appropriate. Where no completion statement is included, corrective action for that lied is still f a ,~ m .,...

A schedule for corrective action for HIDs l'"entified as of Novezber, 1987 was provided in Reference A. That schedule a primarily applicable to Unit 1. ilouston Lighting & I ower Gimpany ST HL-AE 2793 File No.: G9.17, J34, C9.14 Page 2 HEDs fall into one of three groups relative to schedule, as discussed in Attachment 1:

o OLD - Those HEDs which were discussed in the previous HED Resolution 4

Re ort Addendum (Reference A).

o NEW Those HEDs which were identified subsequent to the previous report (Reference A),

o FUTURE - Those HEDs which may be identified in the future.

Most of the HEDs concerning the Qualified Display Processing System (QDPS) have been included in modifications currently being developed by 1

Westinghouse. As d'.stussed in Reference A, implementation of these changes has been reschedults. to target fuel load for Unit 2 and first refueling outage for Unit 1. QDPS items are discussed further in Attachment 4 (HED Resolution Report Addendum 3, Note CPT-1, Page 2-2 ff).

1 Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS) Man in the Loop (MITL) validation testing was completed in December 1987. NRC staff concerns relative to human factors on the SPDS and the MITL Test Results were specifically addressed in the letter of Reference B. HEDs resulting from the MITL are included in
