UNIT 2 INITIAL CRITICALITY The licensee completed all prerequisites and commenced pulling control rods at 3:03 PM PDT on August 19, 1985 for the initial approach to criticality on Unit 2.
Boron dilution was initiated with control rod bank "D" at 170 steps at 8:26 PM.
Initial criticality was achieved at 2:16 AM PDT on August 20, 1985, with a boron concentration of approximately 1340 PPM, well within the expected acceptance criteria for the estimated critical conditions. Low power physics testing is in progress and is expected to take 7 days to complete.
