INADVERTENT SIREN ACTUATION The NRC Resident Inspectors were notified at 8:25 (PST) by PG&E on 11/10/87 that i the County inadvertently actuated the emergency notification system (sirens).
! The wrong sequence was entered into the system while performing a weekly silent-test causing siren activation. Approximately, one third to one half of the sirens mostly in the Cayucos, Morro Bay, Los Osos and San Luis Obispo cities were activated before the cancel button was hit. The sheriff's staff immediately informed other County personnel of the siren ectuation. Action was initiated to inform schools, institutions, and television and radio stations of the inadvertent actuation. Corrective action to insure this action does not reoccur is being-considered.-
