BRUSH FIRES IN THE VICINITY OF DIABLO CANYON At 8:30 a.m. PDT,' July 8, 1985, the licensee informed Region V that its Diablo Canyon site is not affected by the ' current . brush fires threatening the city of San Luis Obispo. Local authorities have ordered precautionary evacuations of areas north and east of the city.
San Luis Obispo County'Ceneral Hospital' is in this evacuation area, but this is not the

ho2pital' contracted to' supply;medjcal assistance to Diablo Canyon. The evacuation areas are '
at least 15 miles from the site.and+7 miles from the EOF. A section of Highway 101 from San Luis Obispo heading' north to Paso Robles 7has been closed to all but emergency vehicles.
