MINUTES OF THE JUNE 14, 1989 NEETING WITH THE TENNESSEE VALLEY i AUTHORITY (TVA) ON FUTURE WORK FOR THE SEQUOYAH, UNIT 1 CYCLE 4 REFUELING OUTAGE On Wednesday, June 14, 1989, a meeting was held at NRC headquarters, in Rockville, Maryland, between the TVA Projects Division and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The meeting was held at the request of TVA to discuss the schedule for TVA to submit proposed changes for Sequoyah for the Unit 1 Cycle 4 refueling outage which will require NRC approval for Unit 1 to return to power operdtion from the outage. These proposed changes will be for both Sequoyah, Units 1 and 2. Enclosure 1 is a list of individuals attending one meeting. The following is a summary cf the significant items discussed and the dctions taken or proposed.

TVA provideo a handout, which is Erclosure 2. Pages 1 and 2 of the handout lists the spec 1fic Sequoyah Technical Specification changes and ASME Code reliefs for special projects which will be proposed by TVA for the Sequoyah Units. These proposed changes and code reliefs will require NRC approval for the projects to be started or completed on the units. The approval for mid-loop operdtion must be granted before the outage. The projects for Unit 1 are scheduled for the Unit 1 Cycle 4 refueling outage which, as shown on page 3 of the hanoout, should end on June 10, 1990. The outage is scheduled to begin in April 1990. The projects for Unit 2 are scheduled for the Unit 2 Cycle 4 refueling outage which will occur in the fall of 1990. Page 3 of the handout lists the dates that TVA expects to submit the proposed Technical Specification changes to NRC. TVA did nut provide such dates for the listed ASME Code reliefs.

The list of proposed changes requiring NRC approval in the handout does not include work already submitted by TVA to NRC.
