Dear Mr. Davis:
SUBJECT:
Dairyland Power Cooperative La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR) i Provisional Operating License No. DPR-45 i Generic Letter No. 88-01: NRC Position on
, IGSCC in BWR Austenitic Stainless Steel Piping (TACS 65955/65956)
Reference:
(1) hTC Letter, Frank J. Miraglia, Jr., to All Licensees of Operating Boiling Water Reactors (BWRS), and Holders of Construction Permits for BWRS, dated January 25, 1988.
The subject Generic Letter requests a written response within 180 days of its receipt. In reply, we wish to state that the La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor was permanently shut down on April 30, 1987, and defueling was completed June 11, 1987. An amendment to License No. DPR-45 was issued on August 4, 1987, which modifies the license to possess-but-not-operate status. Therefore, since we are no longer an operating reactor licensee, it is determined that Generic Letter No. 88-01 does not apply.
If you have any questions in regard to this responso, please let us i know.
! Sincerely, DAIRYLAND POWER COOPERATIVE James W. Taylor General Manager JWT:JDP sks
