WELLS tated he is employed by Volt

-identification of defects associated with a recent NRC Notice of Violation and civil penalty levied against KG&E at Wolf Creek. WELLS stated that due to the inadequacy of KG&E QC inspec ion and reporting procedures, he-(WELLS) had, on several occasions, notified illiam RUD0LPH,i the KG&E site QA Manager, of generic defects utilizing a forma letterformat.'lELLSstatednoother formal means were available to inspectors for making such n,otifications, rWELLS) stated these actions had brought'him into disfavor with KG&E QA management.m WELLS. stated he was terminated on August 4,1983, because KG&E ostensibly was unable to verify one period of his former employment and verify 20 college credits which he listed on his job application. . WELLS stated he then obtained the necessary. evidence to support those entries on his job application; however, KG&E refused to rehire him. 2. WELLS was advised that he could file a complaint with the Department of
1. abor (DOL), Wage and Hour Division, Kansas City, Missouri, as a possible violation of Section 210 of the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974. WELLS was further advise 6 that NRC Region IV would review D0L findings and take appropriate action. .
3. On September 2, '1983, Terry L. BURGER, Area Director, Wage and Hour Division,'

O.S. Department of Labor, Kansas City, Missour,i, forwarded s to reporting investigator a ~ copy of the complaint filed by()l ELLS.) Enclosures to this complaintarelettersto(WELLSlandtoKG&EindicatingthattheDepartment of Labor will attempt to'tonci11 ate the matter and that if that is not possible, an investigation will be conducted. The DOL letter is Exhibit (1).
