RE: Report in accordance with 10CFR 50.54q. i 3- SUBJ: Emergency Plan for Omaha Department ofVeterans Affairs Medical Center TRIGA Mark i i I Nuclear Reactor. License R-57. Docket No. 50-131. .

l i  :

. Changes made to the Emergency Plan in a letter submitted on March 25,1995 deleted the Site -  !

Area Emergency classi6 cation. On Sept. 26,1995, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission found the changes acceptable when reviewed against Appendix E to 10 CFR Part 50; the guidance ,

i criteria set forth in Regulatory Guide 2.6 (Revl); and ANSI /ANS 15.16, " Emergency Planning for

!- Research Reactors." The NRC determined that the deletion of the Site Area Emergency classdication would not decrease the effectiveness of the plan. i 4 1 The changes that were submitted, inadvertently overlooked the deletion of the following:

(1) sections 7.1.2.3 through 7.1.2.3.2.2.

l

(2) section 7.3.3.3.2.

l This matter was brought before the Reactor Safeguards Committee for review. It was determined that the above deletions would not decrease the effectiveness of the plan as specified in 10CFR50.54q. Therefore, the above mentioned sections were deleted on January 20,1997.-

Attached are the affected pages of the Emergency Plan with the sections struck out.
