Dear Mr. Pavlovsky:
Thank you for the time you spent with me on September 26. It was most useful for me to understand your perspective on matters ranging from technology to economics to law. As I mentioned, an infrastructure is needed to interweave these concepts, and the Ukrainian legislature can be helpful in this process.
As we discussed, we are investigating the possibility that consultations be arranged between the legislators of our two countries. We are in the process of contacting another U.S.
agency which sponsors such activities, and we will keep you advised of any progress in this matter.
In the meantime, the NRC Director of Enforcement, James Lieberman, is in Kiev in support of our program with the Ministry of Nuclear S&fety and Environmental Protection. I understand the Ministry has arranged for your staff to meet with him to discuss areas in which you might be interested.
