l Thank you very much for your kind words of congratulations on my appointment by the President as Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. I, too, am confident that the close cooperation between our two countries on nuclear safety matters will continue.

I am pleased to accept your gracious invitation to visit your installations in Mexico City as well as the Laguna Verde Nuclear Power Station in Veracruz. I have asked my staff to work with your office to select a mutually agreeable date for the visit in the not-too-distant future.
