I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the warm hospitality you showed me during my visit to Slavutich last month.

It is a lovely town, made especially attractive by the various architectural designs of the former republics.

It is clear from what I saw that the people of this region have a great deal of pride in what they have accomplished.

As I mentioned in our neeting, we recognize the concern over the future of Slavutich if the Chornobyl nuclear power plant closes.

This is the reason for approaching such a decision in the context of a comprehensive plan that would consider the economic impact on the town.
