Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 Proposed Technical Specification Change No. NPF-10/15-439 Control Room Emergency Air Cleanup System San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3 Provided as Enclosure (1) to this letter are Amendment Application Numbers 144 and 128 to Facility Operating License Numbers NPF-10 and NPF-15 for San Onofre Units 2 and 3, respectively.
The Amendment Applications are comprised of Proposed Technical Specification Change NPF-10/15-439 (PCN-439).
PCN-439 is a request to revise " Control Room Emergency Air Cleanup System," -Technical Specification (TS) 3/4.7.5.
The proposed revision to TS 3/4.7.5 will provide an LC0 3.0.4 exception for MODES 5, 6, or a defueled configuration.
The following APPLICABILITY statement "or during movement of irradiated fuel assemblies" will be added also.
The ACTION statement " Units 2 and 3 in MODE 5 or 6" will be changed to " Units 2 and 3 in MODE 5 or 6, or defueled configuration when moving irradiated fuel assemblies."
The words "or movement of irradiated fuel assemblies" will be added in ACTION b) after the words " suspend all operations involving CORE ALTERATIONS or positive reactivity changes." contains proposed LC0 3.7.11
" Control Room Emergency Air Cleanup System (CREACUS)," which was submitted under PCN-299. identifies changes to TS 3/4.7.5 proposed by PCN-439 as well as changes proposed by PCN-407.
Enclosures 2 and 3 are provided for information only.
Your approval of these amendment applications is requested by January 31, 1995, to support the Unit 2 Cycle 8 refueling outage which is scheduled to begin in February 1995.
