Reference:

Letter BRCi R0-82-Oll, W.G. Conn, Burns and Roe, to R. H. Engeden, Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

In the letter referenced above, Burns and Roe informed your office of a condition related to RHR relief valves which they considered to be reportable under the provisions of 10CFR21.

The Supply System has reviewed the Burns and Roe 10CFR21 report and concluded that it also could be reporte.d as a 10CFR50.55(e) deficiency.

The description of the deficiency and the planned corrective action have been deemed by the Project to adequately satisfy the reporting requirements of a 10CFR50.55(e) condition. Inasmuch as dual reporting is not required and the Burns and Roe Part 21 report adequately addresses the problem and the necessary corrective action, we will not report this deficiency under the 10CFR50.55(e) reporting system. However, we will monitor and assure proper close out of the Burns and Roe Part

21. During the interim close out period, we will provide your office with quarterly updates.
