The apparent cause of ' the water in the exciter was the temperature control valve failing open creating large amounts of conden-sation. Plant procedures are being evaluated for revision to ensure the temperature control valve is isolated within one hour of any plant trip. The-valve will remain isolated until the turbine reaches 1800 RPM and the exciter temperature reaches the point of requiring cooling.
