Dear Mr. Eisenhut:

Re: Turkey Point and St. Lucie Plants Docket Nos. 50-250, 50-251, and 50-335 Fire Bri ade Size We have reviewed your letters of August 21 and AugusI; 28, 1979 for Turkey Point Units 3 5 4 and St. Lucie Unit 1, respec ively. These letters informed us that the NRC staff was preparing a proposed change to 10 CFR 50 to incorporate a minimum fire brigai'e shift size into the Commission's regulations, and requested that w<< commit to a five man fire brigade.

The Turkey Point and St. Lucie Technical Specifications oresently require a three man fire brigade. As noted in our earli' correspon-dence on this subject, we consider a three man fire bric de adequate to respond to potential fires at our Turkey Point and St. Lucie nuclear plants.

At this time, rather than propose revised Technical Specifications for our plants, we would prefer to review the propo ed NRC regulation after it is published in the Federal Register, and then submit comments for further consideration by the Commission. We have also reviewed the enclosures to your letters, and we are preparing additional com-ments to be forwarded under separate cover letter.

Yours truly,

)
