Dear Mr. Kennedy:

Enclosed-is a copy of the Radiological Emergency Preparedness final report for the Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station's Medical Services and Emergency Worker Monitoring and Decontamination Station drills evaluated on September 15 and 16, 2016. FEMA Region VI staff evaluated the West Jefferson Medical Center and the Kenner Fire Department. There were no Level 1 Findings identified. Four Level 2 Findings were observed and corrected on the spot during these evaluations. In addition, one Plan Issue was identified as a result of the Kenner Emergency Worker Monitoring and Decontamination Station drill.

Based on the results of the drills, the planning and preparedness for the State of Louisiana and affected local jurisdictions provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken to protect public health and safety in the event of a radiological release. Therefore, 44 CFR Part 350 approval of the otfsite Radiological Emergency Response plans and preparedness for the State of Louisiana - specific to the Waterford 3 will remain in effect If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Linda Gee, Site Specialist, at (940) 898-5368.
