SUMMARY

LICENSEE: NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC (NextEra)

FACILITY: Seabrook Nuclear Generation Station

SUBJECT:

Summary of Annual Assessment Meeting with NextEra On March 27, 2013, at 5:30 p.m., the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted an open-house at the Best Western Plus The Inn at Hampton, Hampton, NH. The NRC conducted the open-house to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at Seabrook for 2012.

A notice of the open house was issued on March 14, 2013, and was posted on the NRCs external (public) Web page. The meeting notice can be found in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. ML13073A186.

ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web page at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.

The NRC presented poster boards and was available to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of Seabrook for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2012, as documented in our letter dated March 4, 2013, ADAMS Accession No. ML13063A194. The NRC poster boards presented included background on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP).

Additional information relative to the NRCs Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Seabrook can be found on the NRCs website at:

www.nrc.gov/NRR/OVERSIGHT/ASSESS/index.html.

Members of the public, local officials, State officials, and members of the media attended the open-house, and were offered the opportunity to question the NRC regarding Seabrooks performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
